Lincoln Heritage Agent Asking How to be an Independent Final Expense Insurance Agent

    1. If I sign up with Todd King, will I still get the best commission rates? Will I also be able to build my own downline of agents?

    Yes and Yes

    2. Is the commission structure with the other companies broken down by preferred and modified, debit card, checking account etc.

Preferred commissions are always higher (except with UHL). Commission depends on the company but most clients are preferred so I don't put a lot of emphasis on this.

    3. Do any of the companies you recommended have a lead program I can tie into? I think monumental has one. If I do use them, am I required to only write policies for them?

Yes. Todd has most of this information. I prefer to generate my own leads.

    4. How much does it cost to contract with each company?

    Nothing

    5. How much money do I need to have to start a direct mail program?

Depends on your financial responsibilities. I don't like to answer this question. It's up to you. It will cost you around $300 a week and you need to keep the campaign going.

    6. The lead card from the companies you suggested seems misleading. I don't see insurance mentioned on any of them. Is this the best method? I live in NC and I wonder what kind of reaction I will get.

North Carolina is great for these final expense mailers. You live in one of the best states. Who cares how you get in the door, you just want to get in the door. That is how I see it. No one remembers why you are there when you are talking to them on their sofa. It all goes out the door.

    7. Do I need my health license with these companies? I only have my life.

Life license is all that is needed for selling final expense.

    8. I am sure I will have some more questions and I will send them later. I'm sure you are very busy, but I know you know what it is like when your on your own.

You are always on your own in this business and you can either figure out how to make more money doing it or pay someone to do the easy part for you.
