Tapping Into the Final Expense Insurance Market
Here are the first things you need to do before you can tap into the final expense insurance market: 1.) get your life insurance license; 2.) get some basic training on how to sell final expense; 3.) figure out where you are going to get your final expense sales leads; and 4.) find the right final expense insurance companies and appointment setter to set your appointments for you.
- Final Expense Life Insurance License
Getting your license is pretty easy. Just find an online course, study your notes and all the vocabulary, take your test and pass it. You are now licensed to sell insurance.
- Final Expense Training
We developed www.FinalExpense101.com so that you don’t have to sign your life away just to get some basic training. There are many companies out there that promise you the world but you have to commit to them by signing contracts, giving them money, your word, etc. You do all this so you can get their training and knowledge about the business.
For less than $80 dollars, you can get all the information you need so that you will go into this business with your head above the water and all the tools you need to be successful with or without someone holding your hand. This is an easy business and it’s so easy to sell. Don’t waste thousands of dollars just so someone can give you a final expense sales presentation and a few leads to work. You make a lot more money being independent and you will make a lot more money being captive if you go into the contracts knowing what to look for. If you don’t know anything, you will be taken advantage of. Trust me, I know!
- Final Expense Companies
We compiled a list of just about every final expense company on our site. We also give you the top 10 final expense insurance companies as well as the top 4 companies that we recommend. However, it doesn’t matter a whole lot. You just need some companies to represent. We have favorites for certain reasons but what I mainly look for is a company with good prices, high approval ratio and companies that will take the most common ailments that you run into.
For instance, your main company you sell may not take clients on heart medications, so you need a company that will take those clients. You will need a company for obese clients and a company that is lenient on diabetes. If you have good prices and first day coverage for most clients, you will make a lot of sales. I also like to have a good term life insurance company, a traditional fully underwritten whole life company, a competitive priced universal life company and one Medicare Supplement Insurance company for those who are interested in health insurance.
(It seems a lot of agents are highly interested in the Transamerica final expense commission schedule. Contact trk3031962@yahoo.com for this information)
- Final Expense Appointment Setter
I have an appointment setter to set my final expense appointments. I hired her after I pre set final expense appointments myself for about a month. I did okay but I just wanted to focus on selling and found it very painful to pick up the phone and ask the prospect to meet with me. The girl I hired, however, found it very easy and she did me a great favor.
My first day with her, I sold 7 policies out of 7 appointments. It was hilarious. We both had a big laugh about that and it set the perfect tone for the rest of our relationship. I immediately had confidence in her and she had confidence in me. It was so nice to wake up to an email with my schedule for the day. All I had to do was get in my car and drive to the house and because she was so good, they literally had the door open for me, waiting for me to show up.
A lot of agents ask me how I paid her and because she was so good, I paid her $10 per appointment that let me in the door and 10% of paid commission. This worked out great for us but it may be more than you can afford so make sure it fits into your budget before promising any appointment setter a set payment plan.
As for finding an appointment setter, I would look for a friend or acquaintance first and if you can’t find someone close to you, try using odesk.com or Craigslist.org. I would look for someone who has a college degree; I’ve found stay-at-home moms to be the most reliable.
